Upcoming Virtual Movie Events

I know we're all sick and tired of virtual meetings and other events, but at least it keeps us connected with the things we love and the people who love them, which in this case is movies.

In the picture above, you can see what we have coming up in March, April, and May 2021, but before we get to those events, we still have a couple of February events.

This Friday, Feb. 5 at 7pm EST, we'll have a discussion of Jean Cocteau's Beauty and the Beast (1946). You can register for that discussion right now. If you live outside Anne Arundel County, Maryland, you'll want to let us know in the "Special Notes" section that you'll need to passcode sent to you. You can watch each movie at your convenience before the discussion. Anne Arundel County Public Library cardholders have access to Kanopy (and sorry, I can't get you access to Kanopy if you don't already have it through your library system), but if you don't, you can watch the movie from a DVD or Blu-ray from your local library, your own collection, or other method.

On Friday, Feb. 19 at 7pm EST, we'll discuss Thunder Road (2018).

Friday, March 19 at 7pm EST - a discussion of Ashes and Diamonds (1958)

Friday, April 2 at 7pm EST - a discussion of Tol'able David (1921) with special guest Fritzi Kramer of Movies Silently

Friday, April 16 at 7pm EST - Special guest Christina Lane joins us for a discussion of her book Phantom Lady: Hollywood Producer Joan Harrison, the Forgotten Woman Behind Hitchcock

Friday, May 7 at 7pm EST - a discussion of Billy Liar (1963)

Friday, May 14 at 7pm EST - a discussion of We Are the Best! (2013) with special guests Cole Roulain and Ericca Long, creators and hosts of The Magic Lantern podcast

Friday, May 21 at 7pm EST - Raquel Stecher, creator and writer of Out of the Past: A Classic Film Blog returns to talk about Summer Movie Book Reading
